These terms are an agreement between you and Brio ("we", "us"). They cover the Brio app, briofield.com, and the free websites owners make with Brio. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle information, and it is part of these terms.
By creating an account or using Brio, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Brio.
2. Who can use Brio
You must be at least 18 years old.
Owners use Brio to run a real cleaning business, and must be able to make a binding agreement for that business.
Cleaners and clients use Brio when an owner invites or links them. The owner decides what they can see, and can remove their access.
You may not use Brio if we have closed your account before for breaking these terms.
3. Your account
Give us true information, and keep it up to date.
You sign in with a code sent to your email. Keep your email account safe, because anyone who can read it can sign in as you.
One account is for one person. Do not share it.
You are responsible for what happens in your account.
If you think someone else is using your account, write to us right away.
4. Pricing and billing
Free trial
A new business gets 14 days free. To keep using Brio after that, the owner adds a card.
Price
$29 a month for the base plan. It includes the owner and one cleaner.
$5 a month for each extra approved cleaner. There is no cap.
Prices are in US dollars and do not include any taxes that may apply.
If you subscribe while the $29 base price is offered, your base price stays $29 a month for as long as your subscription stays active. The price may go up later for new customers.
How billing works
Billing is handled by Stripe. You are charged each month, at the start of the month, until you cancel. When you add or remove a cleaner, your bill changes to match, and Stripe may adjust the charge for part of a month. We never see your card number.
If a payment fails
Stripe will try again. While a payment is overdue, your business becomes read-only: you can see everything, but you cannot add or change things. If the payment stays unpaid, we may cancel the plan, and the steps in Cancelling apply. Update your card and you pick up where you left off.
Price changes
If we change our prices, we will tell you at least 30 days before. A change will never raise a base price we promised to keep.
5. Cancelling
You can cancel any time, in one tap in the app. No phone call, no contract.
Your plan keeps working until the end of the period you already paid for. We do not refund part of a month.
Seven days after that, your website goes offline. We email you before it happens. For the next 90 days it shows only your business name and phone number.
Your cleaners and clients lose access the day your plan stops.
Your information is kept for 90 days after you cancel, then deleted for good. We tell you the exact date, in the app and by email.
Come back within those 90 days and everything is restored as it was, in one tap.
Deleting your account is different from cancelling. It deletes everything right away. See our Privacy Policy.
6. What owners are responsible for
Brio is a tool that helps you run your business. You run it. You are responsible for:
Your clients. You must have the right to put their information into Brio and to contact them. Tell them you use Brio. What you agree with a client, and the work itself, are between you and that client. Brio is not part of that agreement.
Your cleaners. You hire them, not Brio. You decide whether they are employees or contractors, and you must follow the labor laws that apply, including minimum wage, overtime, breaks and record keeping.
Pay and taxes. You pay your cleaners and you handle your own taxes, insurance, licenses and permits. The hours, pay and money totals in Brio are there to help you. They are not payroll, tax, legal or accounting advice. Check them before you rely on them.
Invoices and payments. You set your prices, send your invoices and collect what you are owed. Brio does not process your clients' payments.
Location at clock in. If your cleaners clock in with location on, tell them, and get their consent where the law requires it.
Records you must keep. If the law requires you to keep pay, tax or other records, keep your own copies. Do not rely on Brio as the only place they are stored.
If you use Brio as a cleaner or a client, you use it through an owner's business. Brio is not your employer and not your cleaning company. Questions about your job, your pay or a cleaning go to the owner. The owner can change or end your access. You can still delete your own Brio account at any time.
8. Acceptable use
Do not use Brio to:
break the law, or help someone else break it;
harass, threaten or harm anyone, or post hateful content;
send spam, or contact people who did not agree to hear from you;
upload someone else's private information without the right to do so;
pretend to be someone else, or a business you do not run;
try to get into another person's account or another business's information;
break, overload or get around the security of Brio, or upload harmful code;
copy, resell or take apart Brio, or collect data from it with bots or scrapers.
9. Your free website
Every owner on Brio can publish a one-page website at briofield.com, at no extra cost. Its address is briofield.com followed by a name you choose. The rules for what goes on it:
It must be true. Every claim is yours: insured, background checked, years in business, the area you serve, your prices. Only say what is true.
Reviews must be real. Only show reviews real clients actually gave you. Never write your own or change what a client said.
Photos must be yours to use. Use photos you took or have permission to use. Do not show a client's home without their permission.
No harmful content. Nothing illegal, hateful, sexual, misleading or that uses someone else's brand name.
Writing help. Brio can suggest text for your site. Read it and fix it before you publish. Once published, it is your claim.
Quote requests. Use the information visitors send only to answer them about your services.
We may refuse a name, or take down a page or part of one that breaks these rules or that someone shows us is unlawful. We will tell you why. The address belongs to Brio. If you leave, the name is freed after 90 days and is never given to anyone else.
10. Your content
What you put into Brio stays yours: your clients, notes, photos, messages and website. You give us permission to store, show, copy, translate and process it, but only to run Brio for you and the people you share it with. This permission ends when your content is deleted, except for copies we must keep by law.
Translations are made by machines and can be wrong. Check anything important, like an address, a gate code or a price, before you rely on it.
11. Our part
Brio, its name, its look and its software belong to us. These terms let you use Brio. They do not give you any ownership of it. If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them without owing you anything.
12. Availability, with no guarantees
We work hard to keep Brio running and your information safe. But Brio is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no promises that Brio will always be available, work without errors, never lose information, or fit your needs. Features that work offline do their best, but changes made with no signal are only saved once they reach our server.
We may change, add or remove features. If we remove something important you pay for, we will tell you ahead of time.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows:
Brio is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data or lost business, even if we were told they might happen.
Brio's total liability for any claim about Brio is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $100 if that amount is less.
Some places do not allow some of these limits. Where that is the case, they apply only as far as the law allows.
14. Claims about your business
If someone makes a claim against Brio because of how you run your business, your website, your content, your treatment of your cleaners or clients, or your breaking these terms, you agree to cover Brio's reasonable costs from that claim, including legal fees.
15. Ending accounts
You can delete your account at any time in the app.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, does not pay, or puts other people or Brio at risk. When it is reasonable, we will tell you first and give you a chance to fix it. What happens to the information is explained in our Privacy Policy.
The parts of these terms that by their nature should last, such as payment owed, limits of liability and governing law, still apply after an account ends.
16. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, USA, without regard to its rules about which law applies. Any legal dispute about Brio will be handled in the state or federal courts located in New Jersey, and you and we agree to those courts.
Before going to court, please write to us first. Most problems can be fixed by talking, and we will try to fix yours within 30 days.
17. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we will post the new version here with a new effective date. If the change is important, we will tell you in the app or by email at least 14 days before it takes effect. If you keep using Brio after that, you agree to the new terms. If you do not agree, you can cancel.
18. The rest
These terms and our Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and Brio about Brio.
If part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies.
If we do not enforce a part right away, we can still enforce it later.
We may transfer these terms if Brio is sold or merged. You may not transfer them without our written consent.
If you got Brio from the Apple App Store or Google Play, Apple and Google are not part of these terms and are not responsible for Brio. Their store terms also apply.
